Product: Enhancing Google Maps with Augmented Reality Navigation Google Maps is one of the most widely used apps for navigation and location-based services. However, it can sometimes be difficult to navigate in a new environment, especially when walking. To address this issue, I propose enhancing Google Maps with augmented reality (AR) navigation. Feature: AR Navigation Mode The AR Navigation Mode will allow users to hold up their phone camera and see the directions on the screen overlaid on the real world. This will enable users to navigate more easily, especially in unfamiliar environments. The feature will also include voice prompts to guide users and provide additional context. Development: Agile Development Process To develop this feature, we will use an Agile development process. We will first create a minimum viable product (MVP) to test the core functionality of the feature. We will then iterate on this MVP and add additional features as necessary. We will also conduct user testing throughout the development process to ensure that the feature meets the needs of our users. Metrics: User Engagement and Retention To measure the success of this feature, we will track user engagement and retention metrics. We will track the number of users who use the AR Navigation Mode, the frequency of usage, and the duration of usage. We will also track the retention rate of users who use the feature over time. Additionally, we will conduct user surveys to gather feedback on the feature and identify areas for improvement. Company: Google Google is a technology company that specializes in search, online advertising, cloud computing, software, and hardware. Google is known for its innovative products and services, including Google Search, Google Maps, and Google Drive. As a product manager at Google, I would leverage the company's expertise in technology and data-driven decision making to develop and launch successful products. Skill: Craft and Execution Craft and execution are critical skills for a product manager. A successful product manager must be able to craft a compelling product vision, develop a product roadmap, and execute on that roadmap to deliver a high-quality product on time and within budget. In this project, I would leverage my craft and execution skills to develop and launch a successful product that meets the needs of our users and drives business growth.
