In a previous role, I was tasked with improving the user experience of our company's mobile app. One of the biggest complaints from users was the difficulty of navigating the app's menu, which resulted in frustration and a decrease in engagement. To tackle this problem, I got creative and decided to implement a conversational interface using a chatbot. The chatbot would act as a virtual assistant, guiding users through the menu and helping them find the information they needed. The motivation behind this solution was to provide users with a more intuitive and natural way of interacting with the app. By using a chatbot, we could eliminate the need for users to navigate through complex menus and instead provide them with a conversational experience that felt more like a conversation with a real person. When I presented this solution to my stakeholders, there was some initial skepticism. Some were concerned about the feasibility of implementing a chatbot, while others were worried about the potential cost. However, after presenting a detailed plan and showcasing the potential benefits, including improved user engagement and increased revenue, my stakeholders were on board. The chatbot was successfully implemented, and user feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Users found the chatbot to be a convenient and easy-to-use alternative to the app's previous menu system. As a result, user engagement increased, and the app's ratings improved. Overall, this experience taught me the value of thinking creatively and finding innovative solutions to complex problems.
